ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - One person was stabbed Monday in a hotel in Anderson County.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office said the stabbing happened at the InTown Suites on Civic Center Boulevard.

According to deputies, the suspect was asked to leave the lobby of the hotel after showing knives to the front desk clerk.

An argument then ensued between the suspect, identified as Ajante Meyers, and a family member of the clerk, investigators said.

During the argument, deputies said Meyers stabbed the victim in the buttocks.

Meyers was arrested and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

He was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center where he awaits a bond hearing.
