A Far Southwest Side high school is seeking the public’s help in locating one of its students who has been reported missing.

Eighteen-year-old Estefania Herrera, a senior at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School in Mount Greenwood, has been missing since last Friday, according to Chicago police and school officials.

The private high school in a statement Monday said, “The Mother McAuley community is praying for the safe return” of Herrera, who is a member of the swim team, officials confirmed.

“We ask the extended community to join us in keeping Estefania and her family in their thoughts and prayers,” the school stated, adding that it is in close contact with authorities.
