HOLYOKE — The city of Holyoke, sued in July after a woman said a police officer’s car struck her vehicle , is denying all the claims, according to court records.
The woman, Esperanza Caballero, of Holyoke, claimed that Efrain Santana, a city police officer, struck her vehicle while they were both driving through the Cabot and Maple street intersection on Nov. 19, 2023.
The city, represented by Hartford, Connecticut, attorney Thomas Schuler, claims in its answer, that the “damages and injuries alleged were caused in whole or in part by the plaintiff’s own negligence,” and that she should be barred from recovery.
