DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — POLICE HAVE ARRESTED a man suspected of performing a lewd act and attempting to steal a woman’s cellphone aboard a Brooklyn subway early Wednesday morning. On Thursday at 7:10 p.m., police arrested Bay Ridge resident Thomas Busardo, 26, and charged in the the 84th Precinct with Attempted Grand Larceny and Sexual Abuse. NYPD said the 29-year-old victim had been asleep on a southbound 2 train when she awoke to find the man committing a lewd act in front of her. He then removed her phone from her sweater pocket before fleeing the train at the Flatbush Avenue stop.
The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County for evaluation and is expected to recover.
