The Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey will kick off a new season with its “ Oh God…Beautiful Machine ” concert on Saturday, in honor of late Trenton arts advocate Larry Hilton .

“Our mission is to make live classical music accessible to all, and this piece helps to bridge that gap,” said Jill Aguayo, the executive director of the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey, a professional symphony orchestra based in Trenton.

The concert was commissioned by Hilton, a Trenton native and arts advocate who died on July 2. Hilton was also a philanthropist who founded The Lawrence M. Hilton Foundation, which gave annual scholarships to students going to college, according to his obituary .
