MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — It was a big day for one of Minnesota's biggest med tech companies.

Boston Scientific held a ribbon cutting for a new biotech facility in Maple Grove on Monday. Leaders at Boston Scientific say they employ 10,000 people across the state. The new campus is large enough to host 1,600 employees and house research and development labs focused on cardiovasicular health advancements.

Governor Walz was at the event not only touting the economic growth with the new opening but the impact of the expansion.

"This is a win for Boston Scientific, it's a win for Maple Grove, it's a win for Minnesota but it's a win for folks around the world that are going to benefit from technology that improves lives," Gov. Walz said.
