EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - It’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the YWCA of Evansville kicked off its annual Week Without Violence.

The YWCA offers support and resources for women in the area who have been impacted by domestic violence.

Leaders kicked off Monday with a proclamation event at its downtown facility.

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry, members of law enforcement, and community partners were in attendance.

Officials say these events reinforce how important their work is.
