A fatal shooting that left a man dead at a beauty supply store in Compton was under investigation Monday.

Deputies were called about 3:30 p.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of East Alondra Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim, whose identity was withheld, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the department.

According to broadcast reports, the 42-year-old man was causing a disturbance at Pink Beauty Supply and was shot by a woman in her 50s, who was described in at least one report as a customer in the store.

The woman surrendered the firearm and was said to be cooperating with investigators.
