WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) held a swearing-in ceremony Monday for its new director of public safety and chief of police, Paul King.
CCRI said King brings more than four decades of experience in law enforcement and public safety leadership to the college. He previously served as chief of police in Pawtucket and director of public safety at Curry College in Milton, Mass.
"From our very first conversation, it was clear that Chief King embodies the values that we both cherish in leadership: humility, professionalism, and a deep commitment to community," CCRI President Rosemary Costigan said during the event.
After being sworn in, King spoke to 12 News about his new position.
