The ninth week of Iowa high school football in 2025 is quickly approaching.
There were some exciting games in Week 8, headlined by Waukee's 31-28 upset of then-Class 5A No. 1 Waukee, No. 4 Johnston's thrilling 38-37 win over four-time defending champion Southeast Polk and No. 6 Ankeny's 34-26 victory over No. 2 West Des Moines Valley.
This week marks the beginning of the IHSAA high school football playoffs in 2A, 1A, A and 8-player. It is the final week of the regular season in 3A, 4A and 5A.
Some of the top playoff games include No. 7 Bellevue at Waukon and South Tama County at No. 10 Van Meter in 2A, Durant at No. 6 Pleasantville and Union at Cascade in 1A, West Fork at Nashua-Plainfield and IKM-Manning at West Sioux in Class A and Wayne at Bedford in 8-player football.
