WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -- Monday made for an emotional day in a Sedgwick County courtroom, as family and friends of a woman murdered and left in a city park faced her killer, urging the judge to give her killer a hefty sentence to honor the life they say was stolen from them.

On July 21, 31-year-old Mariana Christian was reported missing after not having been seen since the 19. Wichita Police located her body in Cottonwood Park near Lincoln and Armor a day later.
