Teen in critical condition from shot in chest near Queens NYCHA building

A 19-year-old man was shot and critically wounded near a NYCHA building in Queens Monday afternoon, police said.

Gunshots erupted around 5:07 p.m. at the Latimer Gardens houses near Linden Place and 35th Ave. in Flushing, striking the victim in the chest, cops said.

EMS rushed the young man to Flushing Hospital Medical Center, where he was in critical condition.

There were no immediate arrests as the investigation continued, police said.
