ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A multi-million dollar payout is heading to the family of a former Volcano Vista High student years after that student was severely injured during a sword fight in the middle of a classroom. "Not only did this teacher and APS not protect this child, but actively put her in harm's way," that sentiment expressed by Attorney Jessica Hernandez, on behalf of the victim's family, speaking about a then 16-year-old Albuquerque Public Schools high school student, who was badly injured in a classroom.
