BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Southern University announced in a press release on Monday that head football coach Terrence Graves has been relieved of his duties just seven games into his second season leading the Jaguars.
The decision comes as the Jags have drastically underperformed this year with a 1–6 record — their worst start since 1971. Southern has been outscored 224–58 in its six losses this season.
Graves finishes his tenure in Baton Rouge with a 9–11 overall record, including an 8–7 mark in SWAC play and a SWAC West Division title. The Jags were picked to finish first in the SWAC West this season and received the most first-place votes.
