The parents of an 11-year-old girl — severely hurt while part of a sailing camp — are suing a South Florida sailing club for $10 million.

The parents of Catherine Viteri are suing the Coconut Grove Sailing Club and three of its counselors after their daughter was run over by a motorboat operated by a camp counselor in July.

Viteri survived but has serious injuries to her leg. Her parent said she can walk but has limited movement.

According to the lawsuit, on July 10, Viteri's parents said she was run over by a motorboat operated by one of the camp counselors during a swimming session. Her parents said her right leg was cut to the bone by a propeller on the motorboat.

The lawsuit claims that the young campers were not properly supervised.
