Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Arthur Maulet is signing to the Detroit Lions 53-man roster, according to the NFL transaction wire.
Maulet, who inked his deal with the Lions a few weeks ago to join their practice squad, now has the chance to contribute amid many injuries to their secondary.
Maulet failed to make the Houston Texans’ final roster when they signed him in training camp. He worked out for the New York Jets in September but they did not sign him.
Maulet was released by the Baltimore Ravens in March after two years with the team. He had played as the Ravens run-down nickel cornerback and specialized as a blitzer, a similar role to his one with the Steelers.
