FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Former Fall River Mayor Will Flanagan was hospitalized with “serious injuries” after he was stabbed Monday night, according to the Fall River Police Department.

Police responded to the 100 block of Hartwell Street around 5 p.m. for reports of a man who was stabbed.

At the scene, the victim was identified as the former mayor, who police said had “significant injuries.”

Flanagan was taken to an area hospital in “serious but stable condition.”

No suspects have yet been identified.
