PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Public Safety canceled a SAFE Alert on Monday.
The DPS announcement came five days after issuing the initial alert for 62-year-old Barbara Bennett Byrne last Wednesday.
Authorities said Byrne was last seen on Oct. 9 in the area of 3rd Street and Dunlap Avenue in Phoenix.
However, she was found safe and in good health, DPS said.
DPS said in its initial alert that Byrne suffers from a medical condition that causes her to become lost and confused.
SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older or who suffer from dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
