Three people were killed in Tulsa within 24 hours over the weekend. Police say all three cases are unrelated, and one still has more questions than answers.

The latest homicide marks Tulsa’s 42nd of the year. Officers say this is on pace with last year’s numbers. But detectives say solving these crimes often depends on one thing: help from witnesses.

Tulsa Police are calling it an unusually violent weekend, with three separate homicides, all within 24 hours.

“This was just something that I guess we can call a blip,” Officer Andre Baul with Tulsa Police said. “We have those every now and again, but this was something that was definitely not normal.”

The first homicide occurred Friday afternoon at Schlegel Park, the second at a party just before midnight near 56th Street North and Peoria
