Kate Westfall of Camas cross country is The Columbian 2025-26 Week 5 high school athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger.

Westfall picked up 1,160 of the 2,254 votes cast this week to win the honor.

The junior was the top local finisher at the Hole in the Wall XC Invitational, finishing 19th in a time of 18:04.

In the included video, Westfall answers three questions posed by her teammate: Would she rather travel the world or go to the moon, would she rather only whisper or only shout and and would she rather travel alone and do what she wants or with a group and do what they want?

Nominees are selected by The Columbian staff after a review of the previous week’s results. Suggestions for nominees can by made by anyone, but must be received by 6 p.m. Sunday for consideration.
