INDIANA, Pa. —

Two people were killed after being hit by a bus at a busy intersection in Indiana Borough Monday afternoon.

In a release from the Indiana Borough Police Department, officials were called to the intersection of Philadelphia Street and Seventh Street following reports of a pedestrian versus vehicle crash. Advertisement

The incident was reported around 2 p.m.

Police said an IndiGO bus hit 68-year-old Ronald Lynn Mabon and 39-year-old Christina Marie Perez as they were crossing the road at the intersection.

Perez died at the scene and Mabon died after being taken to a hospital.

The release said it is unclear if the pedestrian crossing sign was on or if the traffic light had turned green at the time the incident took place. An investigation remains active.
