CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) -- At Anto's Pizza in Conway, owner Anthony Ludovici-Debrigida says taking home first place at Rome's Pizza World Cup for their focaccia bread has been a bit overwhelming.
But that hasn't stopped him from getting covered in flour as he carries out his passion.
"We were selling out pretty not regularly, but probably once a week. It would be like 6, 7 p.m. And now we're selling out like between four and 5 every day," he said.
Newcomers waited in line bright and early Monday morning just try the prize-winning dough themselves.
"This is so great for our hometown. I can't wait to taste it. Looking forward to it," locals Rita and Brian Root said.
The pizzeria's bread bested teams from France, Japan, Brazil and even Italy. Ludovici-Debrigida said 20 judges ranked his doug
