Richard Burgess and Elizabeth Hooker are spending their honeymoon anxious and around 44,000 screaming strangers.
Looking up to the entrance of section 516 on the first-base side, a couple stood out — standing and yelling about 25 rows up in their wedding dress, fine suit, rose-coloured glasses and Jays hats, among the sea of blue jerseys.
After tying the knot Saturday, the one off-day on the Jays’ busy schedule, the couple decided Game 7 was worthy of their wedding attire.
“We had such a great time and wanted to bring our good luck with us,” Hooker shouted above shaking ‘Let’s go Blue Jays’ chants around her.
The two Torontonians are lifelong Blue Jays fans and met at a party in Oshawa six years ago. Only 125 people saw the dress at their wedding, a few more are seeing it Monday.
