New Delhi : The air quality in the national capital and the NCR region reached lowest since last winters after the full-fledged Diwali celebration. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) on Tuesday morning reached 347 which falls under the ‘very poor’ category. In many areas including Bawana, Jahangirpuri, Wazirpur the AQI crossed 400 mark, reaching ‘severe’ levels.
As the air quality entered ‘very poor’ category, the Comission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) implemented the Stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is enforced in Delhi. This stage was implemented following the air quality index (AQI) crossing 300, triggering the measures under GRAP-II.
