HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- The Indiana Department of Natural Resorces Division of Forestry (DNR) is sending $450,000 to rural and volunteer fire departments.

According to DNR, of the 100 fire departments in 54 counties, seven are in the Tri-State. The fire departments include three in Dubois County, two in Perry County, and one in Pike, Spencer, and Vanderburgh County.

Each department will receive $5,000 each. DNR says the money will be used for new radios, turnout gear and water equipment.
