WASHINGTON — A man is in custody for a dispute with his neighbor that went too far.

On Friday, deputies from the Warren County Sheriff's Office responded to the 200 block of River Manor Drive just before 6 p.m. for reports of a dispute between neighbors with shots fired.

While deputies were gathering a statement from the complainant they heard additional shots fired. Deputies approached the suspect, Bradley E. Treece, 60, home in an attempt to speak with him. Treece refused to come out of his home.

The neighbor reported that Treece threatened to kill him and shouted racial slurs at him, the fired 20 to 30 rounds.

After several hours, Treece was arrested at 10:19 p.m. and taken to the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren Regional Jail.
