New documents released this week detail the moments that led up to a 5-year-old girl falling off a Disney cruise and her father jumping in the water after her to rescue her back in June.

The June 29 incident happened on international waters between the Bahamas and Florida at the Disney Dream cruise ship.

According to an incident report from the Broward Sheriff's Office, the child's family was on the fourth deck of the ship they stopped to take a photo.

"The mother ... pointed to the port hole railing and the daughter climbed on the railing and sat down. The daughter lost her balance and fell backward off the railing into the ocean," the report said. NBC6
