Temperatures warm up through the middle of this week across New Mexico. A storm system will bring light rain chances across the state Wednesday and Thursday.
It was a windy start to the day Monday, especially along and east of the Sangre de Cristo and Sandia Mountains. A few place measured wind gusts as high as 60 mph this morning. The winds have died down this afternoon, but many places are still seeing wind gusts around 30 mph. The west/northwesterly wind has also brought warmer temperatures for most of the state, except northeast New Mexico where a cold front is pushing through. The front will make its way across the state tonight, bringing freezing temperatures to parts of east-central and northeast New Mexico. Winds will settle down overnight as well.
