Navy, under the third-year coach, Brian Newberry, is on a mission to capture the American Conference title. Before entering the bye week, Navy stood undefeated with a 6-0 record, one of the two undefeated teams in the conference with Memphis. After Memphis lost their first game to UAB by 31-34, they remain the only undefeated team in the conference. However, a Navy alum finds that the NCAA is unfair to their program, despite staying on top.

After week 8 of college football, Fox College Football posted on X that “ONLY SIX UNDEFEATED TEAMS REMAIN” in the 2025-26 season after week 8 , including Texas A&M (7-0), BYU (7-0), Georgia Tech (7-0), Navy (6-0), Ohio State (7-0), and Indiana (7-0).
