In a significant administrative development, the Government of Tripura has appointed Ratan Biswas, IAS (TR:2013), as the Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration, Tripura. The appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme at the disposal of the Government of India, Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to an official notification issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, Government of Tripura (No.F.2(3)-GA(P&T)/17) and signed by Jai Datta, Under Secretary to the Government of Tripura, the Governor has approved the placement of the services of Shri Biswas at the disposal of the Government of India for the new assignment.
