Ayushmann Khurrana, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Rashmika Mandanna headline 'Thamma', a film that tries to combine horror, romance, and comedy but ends up draining more energy than blood.
The premise is fascinating on paper – a man who turns into a vampire-like creature called Baital, feeding on human blood and, yet, somewhere between the blood and fangs, there is a love story waiting to bite. Unfortunately, the execution feels uneven and overlong. The first half moves at a glacial pace, testing one's patience, though you still hold on to faith in Aditya Sarpotdar's writing – the man behind 'Munjya' (2024).
The chemistry between Ayushmann and Rashmika flickers inconsistently, convincing for a few moments but completely lost in others. Their love story feels half-baked, more told than felt. T
