The Government is considering stopping benefits for offenders in psychiatric hospitals, following a plea from the mother of a murder victim for "true systematic changes." Ministers say they are looking at closing the loophole.

Kennedi Westcarr-Sabaroche's mother and uncle had a meeting with Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden at parliament on Monday. They also had discussions with Jess Phillips, minister for safeguarding and violence against women and girls, as well as victims minister Alex Davies-Jones.
