The deadlock over the Asia Cup trophy, which has yet to reach champions India, remains unresolved as Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistani head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), refuses to part with it despite a fresh request from the BCCI, supported by the boards of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
A top ACC source informed PTI that Naqvi has insisted that a BCCI representative collect the trophy from him at the ACC headquarters in Dubai, a stance the Indian board has rejected. The BCCI plans to bring this issue up at an ICC meeting next month.
