GEORGETOWN, Texas — More than 2,500 customers are without water Tuesday afternoon in Georgetown after an outage was reported Monday night.
According to Georgetown Water, roughly 2,678 customers do not have water near U.S. 183 and State Highway 29, which includes parts of Clear Creek and Bear Creek.
An initial outage was first reported in a nearby area at 8 p.m. Monday, but has since been fixed. At one point, more than 5,000 customers were without water in the area on Tuesday morning.
According to the city's water outage map, the estimated time of restoration was 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, but it's unclear exactly when this issue will be resolved.
According to the city of Georgetown, the outage started after an excavation company accidentally hit a 20-inch waterline.
