Easy money: As lawmakers’ raid on the state’s $4.8 billion unclaimed property fund has spiked public interest in filing claims, two Ohio lawmakers have proposed reforms to make it easier for people to get their money. As Jeremy Pelzer reports , House Bill 480 would, among other things, create a “fast-track” process for claims of less than $1,000 and no longer require probate court documents in some instances for a dead person’s family to get unclaimed funds in their loved one’s name.
