VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach police responded to a crash involving a pedestrian Monday evening. According to the Emergency Communication and Citizens Service (ECCS), the incident was reported at 5:52 p.m. in the 3600 block of North Landing Road.

Officers and first responders arrived on scene to find a roadway worker had been struck by a vehicle. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities during the investigation.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released any further information, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Motorists are reminded to exercise caution in work zones and follow posted traffic signals.
