The second and final Test between Pakistan and South Africa remains evenly poised following fighting half-centuries from Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs and late blows from debutant Asif Afridi in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Day two at stumps, South Africa were 185-4 with Tristan Stubbs unbeaten 68 and Kyle Verreynne (10) at the crease in reply to Pakistan’s 333. The Proteas are still trailing by 148 runs at a spin-friendly track in Rawalpindi.

Zorzi and Stubbs were the standout performers for South Africa with the bat as they scored half-centuries to keep the visitors in command of the second Test.

In the final session, the duo grew in confidence, putting Pakistan’s bowlers under pressure and regularly finding the boundary.
