Detailed designs will now be created for a new "shared use path" through Kenilworth's Abbey Fields.

Warwick District Council's (WDC) cabinet has backed the next stage of the project following a public consultation which received over 1,000 responses.

The path will link from Bridge Street to Borrowell Lane, connecting the park to Castle Farm and completing the missing section of National Route 52.

Following agreement from cabinet at a meeting on Thursday 16 October, council officers will now work with consultants on the design of the shared use path and the safety measures required around the pool.

Final approval of the design will need to be signed off by cabinet in March 2026.

Extra benches could also be installed through Abbey Fields.
