PORTSMOUTH — It was supposed to be a cleanup on Patience Island, the small, mostly uninhabited island off Portsmouth that has just one residential home. But in a fitting twist of fate, “prudence” prevailed when rough waters forced Save The Bay volunteers to land instead on neighboring Prudence Island.
The group departed from Allens Harbor in North Kingstown at 9 a.m. on Oct. 9, with Capt. Eric Pfirrmannis at the helm and Narragansett Baykeeper Chris Dodge assisting. Before the boat even left the dock, Pfirrmannis warned participants that conditions might not cooperate.
