The NHL Central Scouting Bureau released its preliminary players to watch list for the 2026 NHL Draft and the Spitfires have seven players rated to be taken in that draft. If that were to play out, it would tie the franchise record for most players taken in an NHL Draft in franchise history with seven players – Adam Graves, Mark Kurzawski, Darryl Shannon, Kevin Kerr, Kent Hulst, Glen Featherstone and Geoff Benic – selected in the 1986 NHL Draft. However, it should be noted that the 2026 NHL Draft will be just seven rounds while the 1986 NHL Draft featured 12 rounds.
