WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco ISD employee was arrested on Oct. 20 after a non-verbal 5-year-old boy suffered an injury when the employee forcibly shoved him to the ground and then picked him up by an arm, a criminal complaint affidavit states.
Latoya Amanda Jackson, 30, is charged with injury to a child, a state jail felony, according to the court document and online jail records.
The incident happened at 8:35 a.m. on Oct. 10 at Hillcrest PDS at 4225 Pine Avenue, the affidavit states.
Jackson, according to the affidavit, was a special education aide with the Aspire class and the victim was an Aspire student.
Jackson was in the gymnasium helping with a physical education class when the victim was told by the P.E. teacher not to touch a fire extinguisher near a door.
