After a close race, Jeromy Farkas has emerged victorious in the 2025 Calgary municipal election, according to the unofficial results.

Farkas’ campaign has focused on public safety, affordable housing, and job growth in Calgary. Other candidates in the mayoral race included Jeff Davidson, Sonya Sharp, Brian Thiessen and former mayor Jyoti Gondek.

Farkas, a born-and-raised Calgarian, served as Calgary’s Ward 11 councillor from 2017 to 2021. He ran for mayor in 2021, finishing in second place, before taking on the role of CEO at the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation (GPRF). However, he stepped down earlier this year to launch his 2025 mayoral campaign.

Farkas is currently leading with 91,065 votes, just narrowly ahead of Sonya Sharp, who has 90,480. Jyoti Gondek is sitting in third place with
