LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Horse racing in the Bluegrass is shifting to Churchill Downs as the home of the Kentucky Derby prepares to open its 136th Fall Meet.

The 26-day Fall Meet will kick off Sunday, Oct. 26. Racing begins at 1 p.m. daily Wednesdays through Sundays through Nov. 30, except for Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 27, at 11:30 a.m.

The Fall Meet kicks off with the 21st annual "Stars of Tomorrow I" program, devoted to hopeful 2-year-olds with aspirations of running in next year's Kentucky Oaks and Derby. Sunday's card is highlighted by the 13th runnings of two 1 1/16-mile, $200,000 stakes, including the open-company Street Sense (GIII) and Rags to Riches for fillies.
