On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Huntsville attorney Harold D. “Hal” Mooty III to serve as a U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.

In September, President Donald Trump formally nominated Mooty and the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing. Today, in an 66-32 bipartisan vote, the Senate made it official.

Now officially on the bench, Mooty is a former partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in Huntsville, where his practice focused on commercial litigation.
