JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Jefferson County paramedic is under investigation involving child pornography, according to Jefferson County EMS Director Brad Phillips.

In a statement from Phillips, shared by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, he said the county’s sheriff’s office had let him know the paramedic — Marcus Atkins — had been accused of having child sexual abuse material.

“Investigators have not found any evidence that links any of the victims to Mr. Atkins [SIC] role with JCEMS,” Phillips’ statement said. “In addition, Director Phillips has initiated an internal review to further ensure that no illegal activity occurred using JCEMS equipment, systems or software.”

Beyond that, Phillips’ statement also said Atkins’ actions have nothing to do with JCEMS’s mission.
