LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A small plane made an emergency landing near Mesquite on Tuesday morning.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, around 9 a.m., a single-engine Cessna 172 aircraft was having engine issues, so they deployed their landing gear. The pilot made an emergency landing on I-15 between mile markers 80 to 88.

The pilot safely landed without causing any injuries.

Officials report the aircraft blocked the northbound and southbound travel lanes.

NHP is leading the investigation, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is assisting with traffic in the area.
