SPENCER COUNTY, Ky. —
A water main break has led to a boil water advisory for the city of Taylorsville.
The city clerks said new water lines are being laid along Highway 44, and in the process, a water line was hit.
The break forced several Spencer County schools to release early for the day.
It has affected both Spencer County elementary and middle schools.
"The repair may be prolonged and we don’t feel that having school for a full day is possible," a social media post reads.
Six schools will be affected:
All after school programs at SCES and SCMS will be cancelled.
"Please know this is a last resort and we apologize for any inconvenience caused to our families and our community," Superintendent Dr. Willie Foster said on social media.
