An Arizona man has learned where he will be spending the coming years of his life for murdering his girlfriend and her dog and then calling his ex to gloat about it.

Taton Dorfman, 30, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison, according to local news outlets including NBC affiliate KVOA . He was found guilty last month of second-degree murder for the killing of 30-year-old Hannah Rogers, as Law&Crime previously reported .

It was July 28, 2024, and Rogers was home with her dog. Dorfman was there, too, authorities said, and at some point, he turned violent. The boyfriend shot Rogers in the head, killing her, and then also shot and killed her dog.
