CLEVELAND — The Port of Cleveland will welcome the final cruise ship of the 2025 season this weekend, marking the end of what officials are calling a landmark year for cruise tourism on the city’s waterfront.
Over the course of the 2025 season, 53 cruise ship visits brought about 8,700 passengers to Cleveland, reinforcing the city’s growing reputation as one of the Great Lakes’ leading cruise destinations, according to port officials.
Each cruise passenger spends an estimated $150 per visit on dining, attractions and local experiences — adding up to roughly $1.3 million in direct visitor spending this year. Factoring in dock operations, transportation and other indirect benefits, the total economic impact exceeds $2 million, the Port said.
