The United States Department of State updated its “Do Not Travel Warning” for the African nation of Sudan following health concerns.
The travel advisory placed Sudan at a Level 4 “Do Not Travel” tier, which is the highest level listed by the department.
The list begins at Level 1 meaning to “exercise normal precautions” when traveling to the destination, then Level 2 tells travelers they should “exercise increased caution” and Level 3 is for advising people to “reconsider travel” to that place.
The country was already encountering issues like civil unrest, terrorism and crime. However, the advisory has been updated to include health and medical issues.
